Advocating for Environmental Justice in VA

As is the case across our region, Environmental justice issues continue to be pervasive in Virginia. The impacts are many, from proposed natural gas pipelines to coal mining and exposure to air pollution, coal ash, and heavy metals such as lead.

We invite you to join us on November 27 at 11:00 am to listen and learn from a collaborative effort of activists working to raise concerns of environmental justices taking place throughout the Commonwealth. Despite the creation of the Governor’s Council on Environmental Justice, this group has been fighting an uphill battle to restore justice in an effort to protect our rights to access clean air and water. Coalition members and partners will discuss their shared successes and challenges faced before local and state decision makers that impact our most vulnerable communities.
