Paycheck Protection Program: Qualifying nonprofits can receive up to $10 million in loans that under certain circumstances can turn into grants that do not need to be paid back. You can find more information on the Small Business Administration (SBA) website. These forgivable loans will be available through local banks. The purpose of the loans is to keep people on your payroll. Most organizations would qualify for this program, and nonprofits are in the same pool as 10 million businesses nationwide, so speed is a factor. Contact your bank today and ask them about applying.
Economic Injury Disaster Loans: With the declaration of COVID-19 as a disaster across the United States, all small businesses and nonprofits can apply for an economic injury disaster loan of up to $2 million. These loans have 2.75% interest rates for nonprofits and flexible repay terms of up to 30 years. As part of the application, you can apply for up to a $10,000 economic injury disaster loan advance for businesses currently experienced a loss of revenue, and this advance will not have to be repaid. The program is currently open and the application process is estimated to take two to three hours. Watch this webinar for how to submit an application for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan.
SBA Express Bridge Loans: If your organization currently has a relationship with an authorized SBA express lender, you may be eligible to apply for up to a $25,000 bridge loan that requires less paperwork and a faster turnaround than Economic Injury Disaster Loans.
