Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week

CBAW logo.png

Join us as we celebrate Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week, June 2- 10. This week was created in 2016 to mark a time for all of us to acknowledge the great work happening for our local rivers, streams, and Chesapeake Bay. It is also an opportunity for organizations to host community events, plantings, trash pick ups and more!

This year the week will be highlighting different river basins on different days:

The schedule is:
June 2 – York
June 3 – Susquehanna
June 4 – Rappahannock
June 5 – Delmarva
June 6 - Potomac
June 7 – Western Shore
June 8 - James
June 9 – Patuxent

The planning committee has created a toolkit for people to have access to easy social media postings and images. You can also make your own! Please think about how your organization might be able to incorporate some content into your calendar next week. We are also using the hashtag #OneChesapeake. Here is the link to access all of these documents and materials.

If you are hosting an event during Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week, please add it to the calendar that will be promoted and circulated as part of our outreach.

Check back for more updates and social media posts you can use to help promote the week!
