2022 Choose Clean Water Conference COVID Protocols

Summary

We are thrilled to host our conference in-person for the first time in three years. But with this conference serving as the first in-person event for many attendees since March 2020, we are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels safe and comfortable. We will closely follow several health and safety protocols listed below. If you have any questions on these, please contact Drew Robinson at RobinsonAQ@nwf.org or 443-927-8049.

Despite all the safety measure we are enacting, some still might not feel comfortable attending the conference in-person. For these individuals, we are offering a virtual element at a reduced rate which will livestream a select number of sessions and plenaries.

Safety Measures

  • Required vaccination against COVID-19

    • All attendees must provide proof of vaccination to attend the conference. In the registration process, we will direct attendees to share their vaccination card.

    • We are defining “fully vaccinated” as 14 days having passed since receiving the second dose of FDA or WHO authorized (or emergency-use authorized) double-dosed vaccines or a single-dose vaccine; plus a booster dose once eligible.

  • Testing

    • All attendees will receive a PCR COVID test in the mail before the conference. This is a free service with attendees’ insurance billed for the test. For individuals without insurance, the test is still free.

    • Attendees will take the test 3-4 days before arrival and receive their results in approximately 48 hours. We will require a negative test to attend the conference.

    • We will have on-site rapid testing for those who do not complete the mail-in test. We strongly encourage all attendees to complete the mail-in test to avoid receiving a positive test after traveling.

  • Masks

    • All attendees must wear a well-fitted mask in indoor conference spaces except when actively eating or drinking.

    • We strongly encourage conference attendees to wear high-quality masks, particularly N95 and K95 masks.

    • Choose Clean Water Coalition staff and Conference attendees will monitor compliance to keep our community safe.

  • Health Screening

    • Registration desk staff will conduct temperature checks for all attendees upon arrival on both days of the conference. We will also practice social distancing and have multiple check-in tables to avoid long lines.

  • Social Distancing

    • We will reduce the headcount in each meeting space to 50 percent of standard capacity, thus allowing for greater social distancing.

    • To allow for this greater distancing, we are limiting our in-person attendance to 200 people.

  • Outdoor Sessions

    • Weather-permitting, we will host select sessions outdoors.

Cancellation Policy

  • Registrants can receive a full refund if cancellation is requested by April 22.

  • Registrants can receive a half refund if cancellation is requested between April 23 and May 20.

    • These dates are also applicable to registrations for the virtual element of the conference.

  • Anyone who registers and receives a positive COVID test after May 13 will receive a full refund.
