Energy

Throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed, the presence of energy projects impacting clean water is omnipresent. These include positive impacts from properly-placed wind farms and solar fields, to negative impacts from fossil fuel extraction and pipelines. Collectively, decisions made on the energy front influences—for better or worse—public health, community development, environmental justice, local economies, wildlife conservation, and, of course, water quality.

The Coalition is focused on harnessing the collective power of its more than 290 member organizations to address these energy impacts. Through our Energy Workgroup and close observation of energy-related projects, we are committed to confronting energy developments in the Chesapeake Bay watershed and raising a united voice for clean water and healthy communities.
